  • 1 Panther A

SETUP AND DEPLOYMENT

UNITS IN RESERVE
2nd French Armour Division
  • none
Panzer Lehr

    DEPLOYMENT SUMMARY
2nd French Armour Division: This is very simple. 2 Shermans in the back to get the 2 Tactical Edges and the rest charge into the small 3 tank force ahead.
Panzer Lehr: 2 Panzer IVs and the Ace to hold the force while a Panzer IV and a Panther get around the side.

    TURN 1

Hans R Full moves out of the protection of the trees and destroys one Sherman at range

    COMBAT CASUALTY SUMMARY
    2nd French Armour Division
    • 1 M4A2 Sherman
    Panzer Lehr

      TURN 1 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour Division: Okay, did not get first turn but still holding to the plan. With one long shot by his Ace killing a Sherman the other in the back has to cover and get the Tactical Edge. The advance was not quite spectacular but with 1 Panzer IV down and their flanking force out of it for now the French have a chance.
Panzer Lehr: The center is holding for now. The flanking force needs to start moving or the middle might get over run.

      TURN 2

Agressive move by the Panzer Lehr through the trees. Side shots for the flankers. 1 Sherman destroyed

      COMBAT CASUALTY SUMMARY
      2nd French Armour Division
      • 2 M4A2 Sherman
      Panzer Lehr

        TURN 2 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour Division: This turned showed agression on both sides. The French needed a couple kills here for a stunning victory but fell short.
Panzer Lehr: Not so good shooting by the French really helped the Panzer Lehr out this turn. The momentum seems to be shifting to the Lehr.

        TURN 3

Lots of maneuver by the Lehr and some good shooting. More destroyed Shermans

Francois has taken out his counterpart Hans but the rest of the French firing is not so good causing only one bail out tank

        COMBAT CASUALTY SUMMARY
        2nd French Armour Division
        • 3 M4A2 Sherman
        • 1 M4A1 (76mm) Sherman
        Panzer Lehr
        • 1 Panther A Tank Ace Hans R Full
        • 1 Panzer IV H

        TURN 3 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour Division: From Francois Levesque "Levesque to HQ, please inform our Amercian counter parts that the ammunition they gave us is as much use to us as a car with square tires... and a flat!!"
Panzer Lehr: The envelopment is working splendidly. OH NO!! Hans has lost his tank!!

        TURN 4

Lehr moving and firing on the French but with no results

        COMBAT CASUALTY SUMMARY
        2nd French Armour Division
        • 3 M4A2 Sherman
        • 1 M4A1 (76mm) Sherman
        Panzer Lehr
        • 1 Panther A Tank Ace Hans R Full

        TURN 4 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour Division: The French might be able to recover from the losses. If the Lehr comes one tank at a time then it should be just fine.
Panzer Lehr: Now we have busted through their lines but have a chance to be enveloped ourselves. Gunners fire!!

        TURN 5

Panther A versus a Sherman on the left and the others 2 face off.

Only was able to bail one Panzer IV and the lone Sherman went for it with a side shot on the Panther A.

        COMBAT CASUALTY SUMMARY
        2nd French Armour Division
        • 3 M4A2 Sherman
        • 1 M4A1 (76mm) Sherman
        Panzer Lehr
        • 1 Panther A Tank Ace Hans R Full

        TURN 5 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour Division: The Panther heading towards the one Sherman is a bit of a relief for Francois and his mate. The 2 should be able to dispatch the Panzer IVs then head to take on the Panther.
Panzer Lehr: A bit agreesive as one of the Panzer IVs bogs trying to get into the trees. The shooting was not good this turn but the hopes are high for complete victory.

        TURN 6

Turning the turret on the Panther A. Wow, the barrel is as long as a Sherman is as wide.

1 Panzer IV still bogged but 2 Shermans destroyed does not fair good for the French

Levesque moves out and hits both Panzer IVs but only manages to bail them out.

        COMBAT CASUALTY SUMMARY
        2nd French Armour Division
        • 5 M4A2 Sherman
        • 1 M4A1 (76mm) Sherman
        Panzer Lehr
        • 1 Panther A Tank Ace Hans R Full
        • 1 Panzer IV H

        TURN 6 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour Division: Bad luck by the Sherman and he was destroyed. Also, lost the other to the flanking Panzer IV. Not much options but I have faith. Had a bit of a roller coaster ride as Levesque hit both Panzer IVs on side shots but only manages to bail each. Francois Levesque barks out "Driver!! Get us out of here and head towards the nearest deep lake. We are going to throw the rest of these shells into that lake!!"
Panzer Lehr: Much better shooting causing the Lehr to free up the Panther to hunt Levesque. Also, Levesques mate destroyed. Now just Levesque left!!

        TURN 7

        COMBAT CASUALTY SUMMARY
        2nd French Armour Division
        • 5 M4A2 Sherman
        • 1 M4A1 (76mm) Sherman
        Panzer Lehr
        • 1 Panther A Tank Ace Hans R Full
        • 1 Panzer IV H

        TURN 7 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour Division: As Francois Levesque and some of his crew escape the burning Sherman his is composing a letter to the quarter master about the ammuniation his tank received prior to this engagement. He also has thoughts of testing out any new ammunition with his new tank against the American trucks carrying the ammunition to ensure that they can at least destroy a truck.
        Panzer Lehr: Finally got him!!
This was a great fight versus my mate Paul. The games with him are always fun and exciting. Can't wait to fight your 900 pt force mate!!

2dB versus German heavy tanks in Oxford

This is a 700 point Tank Aces game. The map has been changed to Northern Europe. The 3 areas you can play are Operation Overlord, Operation Diadem, and Operation Bagration. The Allies are ahead 1 to 0 but in the second turn the Axis have a firm hold on Diadem and Bagration. With Overlord in good shape The French decided to try to make up some ground in Bagration. By the way, blue arrows in the picture are movement, red arrows are for cannon fire and green arrows are for storm trooper moves.

        SETUP AND DEPLOYMENT

        UNITS IN RESERVE
        2nd French Armour
          Heavy Tank Compnay

            DEPLOYMENT SUMMARY
2nd French Armour: The way the Scrapyard mission works is the amount of experience you gain is your victory points for your side. If the French stay away it is a win for the French side (4-2). With enough Tactical Edges on the board that may give the German Ace enough courage to try something daring and get in the middle of the main Sherman group. I deployed so I could grab 3 of the 4 Tactical Edges and then run and hide.
Heavy Tank Compnay: The heavy tank are just looking for targets. One destroyed Sherman and it shifts the balance of power and the game.

            TURN 1

The far Sherman gets hit by a Konigs Tiger but the crew bails out

              TURN 1 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour: The plan is not going so good. The one Sherman has already been hit and the crew bails. Well, the plan is not working since the one far Sherman has now bogged down so lets start a left hook.
Heavy Tank Compnay: Unlucky fire power roll by the Konigs Tiger.

              TURN 2

Both Konigs Tigers hunting down the bogged Sherman but miss in their shots

With the use of some Tactical Edges the far Sherman is still bogged down

                TURN 2 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour: Wow, held my breath while 2 taking the shots of those big guns. All misses!! Sweet, now just successful unbogged check, right and now for some moving.. but Dalton throws a tactical edge to make me reroll that result. Fail so now I use one and still fail. Oh no!!
Heavy Tank Compnay: Missed that Sherman!! Aim those shots better boys!!

                TURN 3

The 2 german tanks can only Bail out the far Sherman

The other far Sherman moves into cover

While the trailing Sherman unbogs and then bogs again

Trying to get back in adn even with a tactical edge the crew is not willing

2nd French Armour: Luck may be on my side. Only a bail but yet another round of those two tanks. Come guys get back in and get out of there!!
Heavy Tank Compnay: Blast!! All gunners verify all optics and loaders verify all ammunition. Kill that tank!!

                  TURN 4

Well, finally got the Sherman even if it is with a double bail motivation check

Still can't get into the cover!!

2nd French Armour: Well, have to draw those big tanks in closer to get the side shots. Going to stay in the cover for them to get close. I hope this works.
Heavy Tank Compnay: Finally, now onto the other group!!

                    TURN 5

                      TURN 5 SUMMARY
2nd French Armour: Here they come. Just hold tight. Some one tell that Sherman to follow a path from one of the others!! 3 turns rebogging... Really.
Heavy Tank Compnay: Need to get closer before the game ends

                      TURN 6

Heavy Tank Compnay: These Shermans are tough to dig out. As long as I can storm trooper away I should be just fine.

It is very hard to fight Konigs Tigers with Shermans. This game turned out to be a 4-4 draw. Thanks for the great game Dalton!! See you next Turn at 900 points.
